What is your role at Swish?

I am a Registered Dental Hygienist.

What are your responsibilities within this role?

I help patients improve and maintain good oral health, while also providing comfortable care along the way. I am certified to administer local anesthesia for a painless procedure for those who are extra sensitive to cleanings.

What do you enjoy the most about the job?

I absolutely love educating my patients about oral health. Showing a patient their before and after photos is so rewarding – it feels so good to see them take what they’ve learned, put it into practice, and improve their hygiene and health.⁠

What is your approach to the role (ie. your ‘style’ interacting with or working with patients)?

I approach the role with a passion for providing care and creating relationships with patients to better build trust. I like to be an active listener with commitment to developing rapport. Finally, I like offering exceptional education to patients promoting preventive oral care.

How did your career in Dentistry begin (ie. education, previous work experience)?

I studied Natural Sciences at the University of Calgary and finished my studies at Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene with high honors in 2019.

How do you like to spend your days off?

I try to spend as much time as possible with family and friends on my days off. I’m also super into traveling and trying out new things. Music is also a passion of mine; I’ve been singing and playing the guitar for years. You can also find me behind the camera doing videography for weddings and events.

What are you looking forward to in 2023?

On the note of weddings… I got engaged last month! I’m so, so excited to celebrate our big day.

Do you have any pets?

Yes! I have a Maltese poodle named Kolo :)
